Approving FluentCase in Microsoft Entra (Admin Consent)
Some Microsoft 365 organizations block users from granting third-party applications access to their mailbox. In those organizations, users cannot finish Configuring Outlook Sync until an administrator approves FluentCase in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
This guide is for your firm's Microsoft 365 administrator. It takes three parts: allow user consent, turn on admin consent requests, then approve the FluentCase request.
Before You Start
- You need administrator access to the Microsoft Entra admin center at entra.microsoft.com.
- Decide which administrator will review consent requests, and which users or groups should be allowed to connect Outlook to FluentCase.
Part 1: Allow User Consent for Verified Publishers
- Sign in to entra.microsoft.com.
- Select Enterprise apps.
- Select User settings.
- Click Consent and permissions.
- Under user consent, select Allow user consent for apps from verified publishers, for select permissions.
- Click Save.
Part 2: Turn On Admin Consent Requests
Stay in the Consent and permissions section.
- Click Admin consent settings.
- Change Admin consent requests from No to Yes.
- In the Reviewer type section, click Add user.
- Select the administrator who will review requests.
- Click Save.
Part 3: Request and Approve Access
- Ask the user to sign in to FluentCase and connect their Outlook account, following Configuring Outlook Sync. This sends an access request for FluentCase to Microsoft Entra.
- Return to the Microsoft Entra admin center and open Enterprise apps. A new request from FluentCase appears.
- Click FluentCase.
- Select the Users or Groups that should have access.
- Click Save.
After approval, the user can connect their Outlook account in FluentCase. Allow 10–15 minutes for messages to appear in their FluentCase inbox.
Troubleshooting
No FluentCase request appears in Enterprise apps
The request is created only when a user tries to connect Outlook from FluentCase. Confirm that Admin consent requests is set to Yes (Part 2), then have the user try connecting again.
A user still cannot connect after approval
Confirm the user, or a group they belong to, was selected under Users or Groups in Part 3.
